Gum candies are chewable or bubble-blowing candies mainly made from white sugar (or sweeteners) and gum base; aerated candies are candies with fine and even air bubbles inside the candy body; pressed candies are candies formed by granulation, bonding, and pressing.
Consumers should pay attention to the following points when purchasing candies:
1. Buy candies from regular large-scale shopping malls or supermarkets, because large shopping malls strictly control the quality of products, have standardized procurement channels, and guarantee product quality and after-sales service.
2. Choose products from large enterprises or branded enterprises, as these enterprises have standardized management and stable product quality.
3. Check the labels and packaging. First, observe whether the outer packaging is clean and tidy, whether the printing is clear, whether the label is complete, whether the product is within the shelf life, and try to choose products produced recently.
4. Sensory evaluation. Normal candies should be (1) uniform in color, pure and moderate in aroma, normal in taste, no off-flavors, and meet the expected color and aroma of the product; (2) free of visible impurities, no bubbling, no deliquescence, no sticking to paper, tight packaging, no breakage or packaging problems; (3) semi-soft candies containing nuts or peanuts are free of rancidity, insect infestation, and mildew; soft candies are elastic and free of melting and sticking.
5. Chocolate candies should have a smooth and delicate surface, free of whitening, mildew spots, mildew smell, and burnt smell.
